Can you attach an external microphone to a gopro session?

I have the GoPro Session and I saw this adapter on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/GoPro-AMCCC-301-3-5mm-Mic-Adapter/dp/B00A3MY7L8/ref=pd_sim_422_60?ie=UTF8&dpID=31I5usR1w8L&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=12BZCMCQ6MVFY8NH7K9Y but the GoPro I have doesn't have that adapter, so I there a way I can attach an external microphone to the GoPro Session?
