Is gopro the best action camera?

I'm not looking to make any montage videos or do any editing I just wanna put a camera on my dirt late model and record me racing and learn from it. What's the toughest action camera out there and how much. I had the 129 dollar gopro but a rock or something cracked the screen so I can't tell if I'm on photoshoot or video shoot and I kinda wanna get another camera
