Is the GoPro Hero 3 Silver still worth getting?

So my options is to either get a refurbished GoPro Hero 3 Silver for $200 or a new SJCAM SJ4000 for $100(knock off version of GoPro).

Honestly should I even bother getting a refurb go pro? Is the Hero 3 Silver still a good camera to get especially with the 4/session and possibly 5 coming out soon?

Just looking for a decent camera that I can play around with. Not looking for the best graphics/quality but something decent. Is the knock off SJCAM good enough or should i spend the extra money for a GoPro? New or refurb?
