Will this be allowed on board the Plane?

I'm going abroad tomorrow and am carrying on luggage only. But in my luggage I'm bringing my camera equipment for my GoPro. One of the items I'm bringing is a "Selfy Stick" which is a 36" extending pole, which is quite meaty. It has a large rubberized handle and a thick aluminum bottom. So my concern is that this 40 Euro worth of pole will be seized for being too weapon like? I've seen how quickly airports are to whip away items, but I also know that many a photographer must pass through hourly, carrying much more than myself. I also know that earlier this year some friends and i passed through an airport while they were carrying many smaller phone selfie sticks, but they were nowhere near as thick, but they got through.
