Does it matter if I record in NTSC on my GoPro?

I've just bought a GoPro Hero3+ Silver Edition. I live in the UK which means my setting is on PAL but it appears that recording in NTSC provides better video quality, I don't know why? So would I be able to record in this instead of PAL when in the UK?
