What video editing software should I use?
I am going to Florida State University and Walt Disney World for a six-month internship. I want to document this experience for myself, friends, family, and possibly a youtube channel. I will be using my GoPro Hero 3+ and an iPhone 5 for photos and footage. I want to use a comprehensive program to edit videos. Some features I am looking for include:
- Both horizontal and vertical footage can be used without mandatory cropping
- Footage can be cropped only if desired
- Easy to show photos for a few seconds (something I struggled when using GoPro Studio to edit)
- Photos can sit on top of a clip, for example in the corner, while it plays (photo and video can have their one 'timeline'/duration too)
- Can overlay text easily, choose the positioning, font, size, color, etc
- Comes with effects and extras (background music, transitions)
- Edits can be made timely if necessary (ie, end of a work day I can put one together swiftly)
- Is preferably under 30$
- Has some sort of online community I can turn to if I need help
- Works on Mac, this is mandatory as I'm only bringing my Mac there
- Bonus: is available through the Mac App store to use my existing credit and, in that case, can also be more expensive if necessary
Let me know what software you would recommend and why, please and thank you!
