My GoPro Hero s Folder Wont Show on Mac?

I got the old GoPro Hero last year and it worked perfectly fine. I havent used it since and now its May of 2016. Ive decided to pull it out and charge it with the adapter. Thing is, i can find only some of the videos i first took on iPhoto and thats it but i have like 6,000 pictures as it says and my mac won t show that the GoPro is plugged in and i can t find anything?!
