What dive camera is best suited for an unexperienced photographer?

I've been diving with a GoPro for a while and I don't enjoy just recording my entire dive. I want to have a compact camera that I can point and shoot with as well as take good quality videos. I have read a little about what to look for in a dive camera but I'm unsure since I'm not a photographer. I want a camera that has macro lense capabilities with manual white balance. So far I really like the Canon PowerShot G7 X with the Ikelite casing. Anyone have any suggestions?
