Turning a Battery off for 10-20 minutes to Conserve Energy? (Skiing with GoPro Hero 4 Black)?
I'm buying a GoPro Hero 4 Black, and I read about the battery life being particularly short on even 1080p30, which is what I will be recording my videos at. As I have a 4K monitor, I would record in 4K, but my main concern is battery life, so I'm only going to record in 1080p30. I'm using 4K for pretty much every non-winter activity. So blah blah, Lithium ion batteries drain in the cold pretty quickly - it's common fact.
What I'm looking at is a 8-9 hour ski time at -10F - 20F (it rarely gets below 0F, but indeed can).
I'll generally be skiing for about 10-20 minutes at a time, and that would be when the camera is on.
So, would it use less energy to leave the camera running constantly at this temperature, or to turn it off while I'm on the ski lift?
