Can you plug in a Mic into the mini usb port on the GoPro Battery Pac?

I want to get an external mic for my GoPro and I ve seen people who had to get cases that allowed them access to their mini usb port on the GoPro itself. I have a battery pac which has a mini usb port that accessable with the skeleton back door that came with it. I was wondering if I could use that mini usb to plug a mic into.
