What is it like working as an image engineer in those Camera company?

Recently, ive been worried about my future. My major is biotech, but I am not 100 percent passionate about it. I only major in it because my mom works in the lab and thats all I can see. My passion is photography, but my parents say I wouldnt make a lot from it. Now when I finished my first year, I spent my time thinking about my career and happiness. Thats when I started thinking about changing my major to imaging science. I wanted to work on imaging quality. I also have collections of cameras like polaroid, DSLR, GoPro, etc. Thats when I started considering being involve in cameras.
