Should I bring my laptop with me to Italy?

I am going on a 10 Day tour of the gorgeous country of Italy. My parents are telling me to leave my laptop (Newest 2014 MacBook Pro 15-Inch Retina Display) home during this trip. I am very reluctant to doing so because I want to vlog our whole trip since I m a YouTuber. What I m concerned about is running out of storage on my phone from logging, so I want my laptop so I can transfer all of the files to it and then delete them from my phone, leaving more space for the following days. Then I would also be able to edit with my laptop. Is it true that it will get stolen in Italy? Is it worth the risk? Could I log with a GoPro instead and leave all the files on a 64GB memory card then transfer them when I get home?
