Control Brushless Motor Like a Servo on an RC Car, to Make a Pan on a GoPro?

I want to control a brushless motor to make is react the same as a servo motor on an RC car, like for the steering etc.

I want to be able to control the motor to turn 180 degrees using a stick like on a RC car transmitter.

The idea is to mount a gopro camera to the top of the motor and be able to make the camera pan 180 degrees smoothly and precisely using the transmitter from a RC car.

Does anyone know what i need to be able to do this and make it work, or have any other solution to make is pan 180 degrees smoothly from a remote control?
