What other ways can a GoPro be apart from extreme sports?

I am saving up for a GoPro. My parents say I shouldn't buy it cause I don't really know extreme sports. I have seen lots of GoPro footage, and people do awesome stuff with it that is not extreme. I really want this as I find the GoPro really entertaining as I can use it for lots of different thing and you can attach it pretty much anywhere. What should I tell my parents? What are other ways to use the GoPro apart from extreme sports?
