Do you have to twist your hand constantly when riding a dirt bike?

I want to get a crf250 but I cant tell on gopro motocross races on youtube if they are having to twist their hands constantly to gain speed and if you are having to keep your hand at an awkward position to keep the speed your going? Please tell me in detail, or do you just hold something on the bike to drive it
